  • Move a project from CS5 to CS4, and back?

Posted by Corbin Gross on February 6, 2012 at 8:04 pm

Is it possible to move a project begun on a machine with CS5 to a machine with CS4, and than back again?

I need to edit in two locations if possible, and the two machines have two different versions of the production suite on them. It’s not vital, but it would be nice.

    Thanks.

    It might be possible.

I know when moving between CS5 and CS5.5 Premiere forces me to resave a copy of the project file for that specific version. This includes going backwards from CS5.5 to CS5 (recognizes everything no problem, although I wonder if it would throw a fit if I added the new film-like dissolve)

CS5 can handle it, my only concern would be bouncing backwards to the CS4 machine.

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4182045#4182045 According to Todd’s first response, the answer appears to be no. The post also references https://aescripts.com/pt_opensesame/ but that is only for After Effects.
