.mov rednering error
Hey there!
I’ve been using Sony Vegas for over a year now. For that duration I had not encountered a single problem (Apart from newbie errors when I first started)
I render using the .mov file format. This way I can upload my movies and videos onto youtube without a problem.
If you notice here: youtube.com/Gam3rRat1ngs I have sucessfully rendered all my videos and they work as HD. They were all .mov files.
However today I encountered a strange error. When I go to render my movie as usual, it instantly goes to 100%. I have tried selecting/deselecting the whole thing and parts of it. Yet it just goes to 100%. When I press ‘open’ it tries to tell me that I don’t have any applications to open or use that filetype. Almost like my codecs have f***ed up. This is weird seeing as it were only a few days a go that I rendered my last .mov.
I can render fine in any other format, such as .avi and .wmv, but I cannot use these formats for uploading to YouTube.

I have seen this happen. Try rendering your .mov to a different drive.

Thanks for the reply.
Just changed the destination drive and it’s rendering without error right at this moment.
To think it was something so simple and right beneath my nose.

Did this just start happening after you installed VlcPlayer?

Hello Stephen.
I have recently installed VLCPlayer so there is perhaps a possibility that it is the culprit of my problem.
However I’m pretty sure I rendered a movie after I installed VLC Player.
Maybe something has been triggered and its conflicting with another codec or something similar?

Yea, Steve is on the right path. To say it more broadly… What did you install/change between the last time it worked and now? Whatever that is, is probably what’s causing it.
