MOV capture to Premiere Pro 1.5
Posted by Linda Walker on September 11, 2011 at 5:42 pmI recently purchased the Canon 60D camera. I use Premiere Pro 1.5 on a pc. Can that version or premiere capture MOV video clips?

September 11, 2011 at 6:11 pm1.5? wow that’s like 7 years old. Doubt very highly you’ll be able to do much without a lot of transcoding. Time to upgrade to 5.5.

I’m still working on CS3 on my own computer for a couple of years now and with transcoded clips I haven’t run into trouble.
Just do a testrun. Transcode some clips with MPEGStreamclip or 5DtoRGB and import them to your NLE. Recommended codecs are Cineform and Avid DNxHD:

September 13, 2011 at 5:47 pmWow, you might be able to put this in a museum. Yeah, it’s time to upgrade. The software has actually become cheaper over the years.
How old is the computer?

September 13, 2011 at 5:49 pmYou don’t have to spend big bucks to upgrade. You can get a system for around $800 that will handle the video.
You can also go out and buy Adobe Premier Elements for around $70 and you’ll be good to go.

October 24, 2011 at 3:33 pmComputer is 6 years old. Yeah, I know, it’s time to upgrade computer and software. I recently saw the website for “the videoguys”. Do you know if they can build computers for video editing?
Thanks!
Linda
