Mounting other lenses on DVX 100B

What effect were you hoping for? The DVX is not an interchangeable lens camera- at least not without spending a lot of extra dough on a 35mm lens adapter such as a P+S technik.

AE4life posted that he/she just bought the Redrock m2 adapter. I’ve heard of the product and went to their website, but the products were confusing. Did you by an SD package or just the adapter? Don’t you need those rods and a bunch of other things to use that adapter on the DVX? Can you use 35mm film still photo lenses or were they referring to Digital 35mm lenses, like something for the Rebel EOS? I’d like to get the m2, but not sure what I need to use it to get those great narrow depth of field shots. Can you provide some advice/input. Thanks.

sorry for the late response. i forgot about this post. i hate non respnders. actually im thinking of putting together a video tutorial about 35mm adpaters.

but unless you have an HD cam, (i guess) go to SD bundle. The links are a little confusing. But with the bundle for about 995 you get, rails, adapter, lens (achromat lens NOT 35mm lens), mount (you choose which type.. ex.. nikon, canon, etc.) and a hat.

After you get your adapter you need to find lenses. That depends on which mount you get. if you get a nikon mt. ( i use it) you need nikon lenses. Then on each lens you need something with great fstop. at least 1.8.

Now remember. on most adapters accept letus 35 flip. the image is inverted and most people use a monitor that flips the image. I have a DVX100b and you can open a camp, stick a hole in the cap and use a pin to flip the image for you. Vertically though, NOT horizontally.

If you have normal DVX or DVX100a. you can do a search for the magnet trick.

some people say that you cant run and gun with the m2. yes its heavy and bulky, and if you are shooting with your image inverted almost impossible in my humble opinion. but with my needle in the right spot it works and im fine. actually it gives me more support cause now it rests on a bigger portion of my arm and works great.

I just bought a panasonic DVX100B and I have a couple lens that I also purchased. I don’t know how to switch out the lens….can u help me?
