I’m using a DP500 rail system with my T2i, and I’m trying to find a way to mount a USB 2 channel audio box that doesn’t have a 1/4 20 mounting thread.

I’ve thought a epoxying a 1/4 20 cold shoe adapter to the case, but this would no doubt void my warranty. What I picture is almost like the cradle that’s used to carry a cell phone or gps in a car, but with the ability to hold a 5 inch wide device securely, then attach to a rod or arm.

I’ve seen some device plates with velcro, but these are expensive, and don’t look quite as solid of a mount as I’d like. There should be some kind of expandable (in width) universal clamp or cradle that has a threaded mount out there, but I have yet to find it. This is going to have mic wires coming in to it, and going out to the camera, plus a headphone wire attached for riding gain, so it needs to be a tight hold. Thanks.
