motion tracking in Vegas 10
Posted by Grzegorz Kwiatkowski on December 5, 2010 at 6:14 amHi,
is there any way to track motion in Vegas 10? By this I mean to make Vegas recognize some characteristic pixels within the footage and follow (track) them. I was using this feature in Adobe After Effects but I wonder if Vegas can do this trick too. Maybe there is a special plugin for this?
thanks

December 5, 2010 at 1:49 pmThere’s no way to do this in Vegas yet so stick to After Effects.

December 5, 2010 at 7:30 pmThis is just great. But is it possible to copy tracked keyframes from one layer and apply them to another layer?

December 6, 2010 at 3:05 amUnfortunately not yet. But we are looking to add Motion Tracker to more BCC effects. What exactly are you looking to do?

December 6, 2010 at 3:12 amI would like to track some pixels of one layer and make the second layer move like these pixels (to use tracked keyframes to move a different layer).

December 6, 2010 at 11:32 amI see. We’ll have a special filter for that called Match Move in our next update. It will be a 2:1 Transform in Vegas so that we can get hold of an additional layer. Keep an eye on our announcements.

January 23, 2012 at 4:56 pmBrilliant but how do I do this, with another track?
Lets say I have a moving billboard, and I want it to have a sign on it and stay on it with motion tracking, how do i do this when the clip i want on top is in another track?
