    Hi
again have a question that is making me go crazy in “motion”. I have found that I can make a title bar and save the project and import that project (clip.motn)into FCP and place it over my video clip. (Fantastic) However, I found the quality is very very poor. A logo on my title bar is extremely poor quality. Almost impossible to read the text in the logo! What I have found is if i render export this clip out of motion and then import it into FCP, the quality is fine but as the above explanation, not so good.
I like the fact that if i use the .motn versions I can make changes, save it and automatically updates in FCP.
Is there a quality setting that allows that can improve this? Am I saving it wrong?

Does the Motion project settings match the FCP settings?

    What are those settings?

    FCP is running:720 x 576 CCIR 601/DV PAL (5:4)Anamorphic 16:9 25 fps
Motion project preset ediotr is running: PAL Broadcast SD 16:9 720 x 576 PAL D1/DV Anamorphic 25 fps.
    Both have upper field selected.

So would have thought that is a match.

Yes the settings match and are correct. Is everything rendered in the FCP project?

yes and the logo is brought straight into motion and rendered onto vision

Perhaps a screen shot might help us to work out the issue. Also how are you judging the image?

If FCP is set to 100% in the canvas it gives a more accurate image. Is the final image for web, DVD or broadcast? If the later, then the quality should be judged on an external monitor via an I/O card (Kona, Decklink, Matrox)

the final destination is for corporate video and I use a AJA card to a LCD screen. Like I said the if I export the vision as an independent clip, the quality is very good. The .mont version is the issue.
In fact since talking about this issue I have been making independent clips to get the job done.
I have all my settings to the highest quality, even when I output from motion to the LCD television.

In FCP, go to Settings, Sequence. Then click on the Render Control tab. Set Quality to best.
