    Hi,

I have a complex illustration (consisting only of lines) made in illustrator, which I will copy into AE.
I want to animate these lines in a “write-on” manner with particular (I want to add some turbulence later to make it more organic). My question, how can I parent the light emitter to my path imported from Illustrator?

    Thanks for any help!

    /Kim

You should be able to paste the path from Illustrator directly into the position property of the light, provided you have followed the instructions in the AE help file:

“Note: To make the data copied from Illustrator compatible with After Effects, the AICB option must be selected in the Files & Clipboard section of the Adobe Illustrator Preferences dialog box.”

But of course! Thanks Darby for the feedback.
