I would like my menu to fade up from black on a first play. What is the best way to go about this?

    1. Create a motion menu that is lets say 33 seconds long and has a 3 second fade up in the beginning, and then loop the end of the menu to the 3 second mark?

    2. or is there a way to create a menu transition first play?

If you did option 1, which is easy enough, at the end of the 30 seconds the menu would go black, then fade up again, and then repeat this process over and over. Wouldn’t that look a bit odd, and possibly have people thinking something had gone wrong?

I’m not sure if you can do a one off transition that does this just once, unless you created a separate first play element that would reveal your menu in this way perhaps…

[Jason Cork] “f you did option 1, which is easy enough, at the end of the 30 seconds the menu would go black, then fade up again, and then repeat this process over and over.”

If you have CS4, you can avoid that particular scenario by having it loop back to the loop point rather than the beginning.
