Motion Library does’nt find contentfiles
Posted by William Colman on January 18, 2010 at 8:25 amIn Motion 3 some of the Motion content files are not found in Library, although they are in the Library file in the FCstudio2/Motion application file . Some of them appear, others like particles not.
I can acces them via the file browser and they work fine.
Does someone have an idea why they don’t show up ?Thanks

January 18, 2010 at 4:58 pmTry going to the Preferences and reset the “Content Library & Templates” Library Path in the General section. Best of luck.

January 18, 2010 at 10:37 pmThanks Steven, I did delete the preferences and the first time I opened Motion all content files showed up !
But another problem came up : when I try to sent a clip to Motion, I get the message : “File Error : wrong Type” That’s a first and no idea why it does. I did try to delete the preferences of FCP 6 but it did not solve the problem. I have FCP 6.04 en Motion 3.0 on an Intel quad.
Any ideas ?

Deleting your preferences and reseting your library path are two different process. Are you saying that the content is now showing up after deleting the preferences and now you can’t send stuff from Final Cut to Motion?Check out my Motion Training DVD

January 20, 2010 at 8:52 pmYes Stephen, once I restarted Motion after deleting the preferences the Motion content showed up in full.
When I continued working on a FCP project I could not sent clips to Motion from FCP. And only to Motion because sending clips to Shake and Soundtrack Pro works fine.
Maybe the trashing of the Motion preferences has nothing to do with this, maybe it’s just a coincidence.
But what could cause this problem ?William
