  • Motion – generation loss – ProRes 422?

I have recently got FCS 6 and are new to some features.

I have a 20 min clip that is unstable due to strong winds. I try to get it stable with the Stabilize function in Motion.

After noticing that speed decreases considerably with time, I now create 1 minute clips and work bit by bit. Finally it will probably be OK.

But to get the final video I think that I have to render the clips two times – first after Motion, then after zooming and color correction. I suppose this will give me a quality loss.

Shall I export the original HDV-clip to another codec? There seems to be a great hype about ProRes 422. Tried to convert 3 min to ProRes – FCP said it would take 3 hours!?

Maybe I don´t understand the use of ProRes …
