    Hi..

    I’ve decided to upgrade my G4 1.67g laptop to a brand new IMAC 24″ 2.8ghz Extreme, 2gig ram etc. ..Woowwo. The problem that I have is that after a while motion starts freezing up until I eventually get the beach ball and then…. kaput! I have to shut off the computer by holding the power button for 5secs… I did all the updates, my system is up to date…

    any clues…

    Are you trying to do something particularly heavy? Large images, lots of particles, that sort of thing? I do sometimes experience a bit of “sensitivity” in these circumstances.

    A couple of things to check. Make sure you close all projects other than the one you’re working on, then do the trash-prefs/repair disk permissions voodoo.

    I have the same problem and a similar setup. I’m not trying to do anything too tough- 4 or 5 layers of hi-res jpegs, a few text layers with simple behaviors applied. I’m frustrated.

    MBP 2.67 ghz, 2gb ram, os 10.4.11

    any thoughts?
