motion files suddenly not updating in FCP
Working on a client system that I have worked on for years and routinely create files in Motion and then use the “open in editor” function to modify. Suddenly, the files are not updating in FCP. when I check the file in the finder window, it appears that they are not saving over the original version since the “last modified” field does not seem to be changing. I can do a “save as” but then that defeats the purpose of the round-tripping functionality.
Anybody have any clues about this?
fcp 6.06 and Motion 3.02

further investigation of the motion file reveals this…
in the fcp browser under “compressor” it says “Motion Codec Decompressor” while older motion files have nothing under that field.
under “Data Rate” it is only 599/sec as opposed to older files listed at 25.3 K/sec
under “alpha” it says “black” and older files say “straight”
I can’t seem to find a place to change these settings.
