    Hi,

I am a newbie to Motion but reasonable with FCP. I have a shot in FCP (Apple ProRes seq) which pans right to left over a series of paintings. Another editor created a motion output (QT I think) where text titles pan also and fade on as we cross over each painting. (He got them to pan in such a way to sit below each one).

The text when static is solid white over the panned image. However, when I render and play, the text looks blurred.

I noticed on the clip in the timeline there is a ‘shift fields +1’ filter on it. I’ve tried adjusting it but to no effect.

Has anyone done something like this?

is it a FCP fix or a Motion fix?

    I am running Apple Pro Res at 29.97 – 1920x 1080

    FCP 6.0.4

Thanks in advance for any advice.

[Marcus Taylor] ” in the timeline there is a ‘shift fields +1’ filter on it”
When this happens is because the graphics have the opposite field order than your FC sequence.
You need to make sure the field order of the graphics and see if FC is interpreting that properly in the Browser.
However if this would be a problem of fieds order you wouldn’t be getting blurriness, but interlacing artifacts, that looks much awful than any blurriness.
Have a look to this article that my helps you:
