I have an image which I’m tracking across the screen but during playback the frames sort of blend together. I’ve turned off frame blend and for field options selected “always deinterlace” which seems to be the most effective setting for getting rid of the problem — however, as you can see (click on the link above) there’s still a motion blur issue — though, when I pause the playback there’s no blur.

is there any way to remove this?

    thanks!

    Hi David,

The problem is not “motion blur”, but that the pace of the motion is too fast for the eye to keep up with the sideways movement. This is more scientific limitations of sight rather than technical settings in editing.

Slow it right down (make the motion take a longer time to move) and you will see a dramatic improvement.

i created a new sequence at 60fps rather than 24 and this removes any blur, but the rest of my project is in 24 — how will this effect my project?
