Motion blur of more than one frame? (smoke trails)
Hi,
I want to generate an imitation of a trail from a moving smoke stick: like all those beautiful photos of a smoke. Basically, it’s a trail of a moving smoke source. More dense in places where it moved slower, or several loops of the trail overlap.
Think this can be done by moving a white line in 3D space as if it was a real smoking stick, shot to a single frame with a very long exposure.
I did a comp where a line moves within 3D over 130 frames.
How can I make the motion blur take these 130 frames as if it was a single frame with a complex movement, and accurately blur it along a path, keeping track of speed and direction variations in the move?I tryed time-remapping 130 frames into a single one – didn’t do the job;
Echo effect draws discrete lines, instead of a seamless trail.Any idea – which plugin can do the job, or how to trick the built-in Motion Blur to achieve the seamless trail effect?
Sergei.
