This is driving me crazy. From what I can tell, motion blur doesn’t really work in Motion Templates.

I made a Pan and Zoom template for animating motion on photos. I want to have your typical 180 degree motion blur on it to smooth out the motion. However, no matter what I do it just doesn’t work right. I upped the shutter angle to 1800 degrees (10X normal) and it provides only a slight bit of motion blur on only really fast moving things (I’d guess it’s actually more like a 45 degree shutter angle). There is no way to go above 1800 degrees so I’m stuck. Any ideas?

    Here is the template:

    Awesome. Thanks!

It didn’t really work inside the template as it messed up my “Smooth Move” rig setup. It just got stuck at the begin setting and didn’t move. I think it probably has something to do with the “Loop” marker.

But I did have success using it as an Adjustment layer in FCP X. That will do for now.

Why Motion scales the time of the motion blur doesn’t make a bit of sense though.
