I have watched Motion for a while and I have noticed that while the newer video cards like the x850 or the 6800 are more powerful, they don’t seem to push Motion THAT much faster than say a 9800Pro SE. It was a difference of like 5fps in a preview. Is this true or am I mistaken? Has anyoen upgraded from a 9800pro to a newer card? Was it that much better?

I upgraded from a 9800 Pro to an x800 and saw a significant improvement in performance, especially with the Replicator and Particle frame rates.

Am looking at upgrading all the 9800s in my Mac classroom for teaching Motion.

The speed increase will be more apparent with certain operations than with others.
