Motion 5 Title in FCPX: Cannot change text size
I created a Title in Motion 5.1.2 to use in FCPX 10.1.4. This Title contains a Text object in which there are several lines of text with different Size and Line Spacing values. For example:
Group Name [Size: 56]
Performer_1 [41]
Instrument_1 [30]
Performer_2 [41]
Instrument_2 [30]When I place this title in an FCPX primary storyline, it looks the same as it did in Motion until I change the default text in any line other than the first. For example, if I change “Performer_1” to “John Doe” FCPX changes its size from 41 to 56, the size of the first line (“Group Name”). I can modify the “Size” value of “John Doe” in the FCPX Inspector, but doing so does not alter the actual size of the text “John Doe” in the Canvas — it remains at 56 regardless of what the “Size” property value is. If I change “Instrument_1” to “Piano,” FCPX also changes its size from 30 to 56, and regardless of what I set its Size property to in the Inspector “Piano” remains 56 in the Canvas.
The same behavior is true for the “Line Spacing” property of “John Doe” and “Piano” — changing this property in the Inspector does not alter the actual line spacing in the Canvas.
However, this is not true for the “Font” property. If I select a different font for “John Doe” or “Piano” in the FCPX Inspector, that line’s font changes in the Canvas.
In Motion, I have selected “Publish” for the “Size” and “Line Spacing” properties of all of the Performer_n and Instrument_n text lines, but changing the value of these properties in FCPX does not alter the appearance in the Canvas.
Any idea why Motion and FCPX are behaving this way? How do I create a custom Title in Motion that would allow me in FCPX to change the Size and Line Spacing of each line?
Thanks!
