Can anyone help?
I recently bought motion 5. I have Premiere CS4 and FCP 7.0.3 on the same iMac. I currently use a Canon XH A1.In order to import footage to Motion 5, I have been capturing via FCP and converting to Quicktime. Once effects are added, I transfer back to FCP and if wishing to use the footage in CS4 do an XML conversion. I have 2 problems:
1. When the footage arrives in Motion 5, it is zoomed in by a factor of about 10 and is therefore difficult to work with. I can resize but the end result when burned to a disc is a much reduced square of video in the centre of the TV screen. How can I get the picture to the correct size in the Motion window?
2. Whatever footage I import to Motion 5 tends to be very jerky in the timeline and also when transferred back to FCP or CS4. Is there a solution to this?

The footage you captured to in FCP, does it have to be rendered? Does it have any sort of green bar above it?

I’ve discovered that the problem is more specific to Premiere. The timeline runs ok in FCP even in preview but back in premiere is very jerky with the Motion 5 effects. Today I tried rendering and it did some very strange things – the footage was all magnified and elongated as well as being very pixelated. I would really like to be able to work with the footage in premiere as I use Encore for DVD authoring.Mike

Sorry, I haven’t used Premiere since Adobe Premiere 5.0. I’ll be of no help.
Did you export it out of Motion in the same codec and aspect ratio as you are editing in Premiere?
