  • Motion 4 – why does my mask slip when I add video

I have created a template in Motion 4 where I have an aeroplane cutout moving from left to right. Underneath I have a dropzone with a mask that moves underneath the plane so that the planes movement reveals the video. In Motion both layers stay in sync, however when I use the template in FCP7 and add video to the dropzone, the video first lags behind the plane then overtakes it. Why?

Is the new clip a different size then the drop zone? I find it is best to add a mask to a group that the clip/drop-zone is in because of this.

no its exactly the same size as the composition, that’s why I can’t understand the timing error.
