    Hello,
I have a 3d composition containing lots of cut-out still images (people on green screen) and my machine is getting quite slow due to the number of layers.

So I’m just wondering what the least CPU-intensive still image+alpha format would be that I can convert them to?
    PNGs? PSDs? other?

    Thanks, hope I’ve made sense.

Dave, yep that’s exactly what I’m trying to do, so that keylight doesn’t need to be used anymore.
So if I prerender every still character, what’s the most CPU efficient format to render the individual images in?
    a PSD file? PNG?

Once they’re still images with an alpha, there is no CPU usage factor. They’re just regular ol’ layers. just don’t make them any larger than they really need to be for your composition.
