Hi. Sorry for this kind of question but I’m learning how to use After Effects. I have a project (short film) and I want to add a Morphing effect. I haven’t shot anything in video yet. I just made a short video with a 3D character walking to see if I can achieve the effect I want.
I made a sort of soul-like thing using CC Particle World and I want that to morph into the character walking… like a “ghost-materializing” kind of thing.

Any ideas on how to do that?.

    Thanks.

as long as you render a pass of just the character, you can use that mask to contain any number of ghost like materializing effects. Too many to list with all the plug ins available. Also feathering, choking and expanding the characters mask can lead to softer or ‘harsher’ looks.

Just get that alpha of your character and create away!
