    Hi

I am losing my mind…I am recording a bunch of VO for a demo, and i cant seem to get anylevel inot FCP. its probably cuz i am using a lame mic.

so when i am done recording the vo, i open the original file in soundtrack, and apply a normalize, at -2. i then save the file.

however when i open the file up in FCP its a lot hotter than when i saved it, to the pont that all the peaks are clipped..

I cannot understand how this can be happening. its like the simplest thing in the world and Soundtrack is screwing it up!

    please help

    Hi Again

i just tried opening and saving without doing anything. and it changes the levels, increasing them by 2 to 4 dB.

I could understand if this was a stereo file and i was saving it to mono, but its mono to mono

    i do not get it

    hey

so i just started saving them as aif files. i do not know why it boosts the level when i save it as it came in (fcp captured audio only qt movie) but there you go (actually i do know why, but I do not want to start a ruckus here)

    thanx anyway 🙂
