    Hi,
My new version of Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum version 9 has less font choices than my previous version 6. Any way to download more?

    With My Regards!

Did you get a new computer?
Vegas uses the fonts that are installed on your computer.
If you want more, you’ll have to either copy them from another computer or download them from a site such as https://simplythebest.net/fonts/free_fonts.html
To install a new font, go to C:WINDOWSFonts, File – Install New Font and follow the prompt.
Once that’s done, it should show up in Vegas.
I find it useful to put the fonts to be installed in a folder on my desktop and then browse to that folder.
After they’re installed, delete the folder as it’s no longer needed.

Thanks! I did get a new laptop and didn’t realize that’s where vegas gets them. When you go to this font site do you download them individually or are there groupings? The one I checked before I sent this post had 10,000 to choose from! Is it meant more for when you are looking for a particular font? I will definitely copy the ones from my desktop.

Sorry Audra but they’re all individual downloads 🙁
Fonts quite often come as a “family”.
By that, I mean that if you install a particular font, you often get regular, bold, italic and a few other variations of it.

Sites like this come in handy if you’re looking for a particular font but I find that I sometimes get overwhelmed by all the choices.
For that reason, I stick to the basics.
If someone wants/needs a specific font for a project, then I’ll ask them to supply it or I’ll look around for it.

Thanks Mike for the response. I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets overwhelmed by the magnitude of choices! 🙂

One more thing. Is it harmful to my computer to download these FREE fonts? Is there a “catch?”

    With My Regards!

Audra, I’ve downloaded numerous fonts and never had any problems.
As with anything you donwload though, run a virus scan on it, just be be sure & safe.
