    Hello

I went thru the VASST sony vegas trainings vol 1-9 and I want to REALLLLLY Step up my game.

I learned about plugins, transitions, swipes etc.

I know there are things like animated gifs, and overlays and such.

Is there any courses or instructions on super nerdy advanced vegas training? Or a place where I can get lots of animated gifs and swipes, and overlays?

Is there more than this or do I know it all now and I just have to be creative?

    Thanks

Well you’ve partially answered your own questions:

do I know it all now ……..NO

I just have to be creative…..EXACTLY.

To add to what Steve already said, your task now is to watch video in the genre you are working in. If it’s commercials then watch commercials, if it’s movies than watch movies, if it’s weekend sports then watch sports… only with the audio OFF! Really look at what is visually being achieved and think about what you are seeing and how you might achieve it.

Not only watch what is used… but what isn’t used! Notice there are no 3D transitions in most major movies. See how lighting sets the mood. Notice that shadows are even more important than lights! Notice there are lots of 3D transitions in football game. There is a time and place for everything.

Learn from the best by watching what they do and then try and emulate it but add your own signature to it. In other words, yes the mechanics lessons are over and it’s time to get creative! 😉 Good luck.

    Hi Anthony

For what you mentioned, you might want to take a look at Digital Juice. Most of what you asked for is there, including their DJTV, videos with tips, tricks and instructions. Editor’s Took Kits, Swipes, JumpBacks, Overlays. The whole “ball-of-wax”

    https://www.digitaljuice.com/

They’ve even got a Vegas forum there too on using the stuff.

Ahhh yes… Well thanks for the tips. I will keep my eyes open!

For the record, the media manager is the bomb! Is there a tool like this for a organizing your hard drives? That would insane!

For the record I am now getting a drobo and maxing out my video work:) The next thing I need is a second monitor. I definitely need more room to work with vegas. Too annoying trying to squeeze everything
