I haven’t done this in a long time, but another company that has hired me to shoot, also wants me to send a signal to a HDV Sony Recorder.

I used a firewire 4-4 pin cable to hook it up directly from the camera to the deck. The deck recognizes that I have a firewire, but I can’t see the image from the camera.

I set the iLink in the camera menu to on. I set the camera up for 1080i 60.

I even used the RCA cable that came with the camera for a test, and I was able to get an image after changing the settings in the camera for that output.

I’m sure it’s a simple setting, but I’m missing it. Any idea on what I’m not doing right? I even hooked up a FX-1 via firewire with no problems, to see if it was the cable or deck. ( I was able to monitor the FX-1)
