monitoring i/o scaling or full res card needed? (can I use the HD card for 2k footage or do I need the 4k card?)
I’m moving from color to resolve, previously the Matrox MXO2 LE supported scaling 2k to 1080 with nice results, but I’m wondering if with resolve I need the 4k card. Particularly will that even work with my monitor (Flanders’ LM-1770W), maybe I’ll need to be proxy grading anyway if the output stream is too large for the monitor…
Or can I grade 2k, 4k, whatever, on the HD card, just not getting the full res signal through the output?

you’ll need one of bmd’s qualified cards (there’s a few) to monitor-output resolve, but you set your display resolution in the project (not the card) and then afterwards can render out whatever.

Can You output 4K from davinci somehow (I think the 4K card is not yet shipping and once it will, will it work?)

you can output 4k, but not monitor 4k.
