    Hi folks,
I just came across some topic in this forum which I don’t understand. Apparently, you need Kona or Black magic card to monitor a HDV 24f footage in FCP. I always thought that FCP has no problem to work with 24p footage so this is kind of a suprise. It is not actually first time I am hearing, that you might not be able to view a footage in FCP. I hope this applies only to HD footage, not HDV.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
    Cheers
    Paul

You do not have Real-time Analog pass-through to the HDV camcorder when editing in native HDV codec (like you do when editing in standard def DV codec). AJA Kona or BMD offers a solution for this. Also, I think the Matrox MXO box does too.
