Every edit suite should have a mixer. I have the Mackie 1402… Anything and everything audio related goes through my Mackie. Using the variety of routing options you can input and send audio to almost any device in your suite…and still listen to the Family Guy without intefering with work. And the PiP option on the Dell2001 20″ monitor makes for great viewing while rendering.

I looked at the ‘big Knob’ and decided to spend slightly more on the Presonus Central station. (the perfect NLE monitoring tool). It is very flexible and much more transparent than most mixers (the ones attached to NLEs anyway).

Check out the spec cause it does more than the Big Knob as well.
