I used to have one of these but it got destroyed somehow, it was a strange cable that fit the 12-pin fitting on the BVW1800 component out and broke out to BNC on the other end. This enabled me to get component to my Sony monitor, which I prefer over an s-video connection and heaven forbid, composite. I know I could get a D-A converter and come out of the card SDI, but that would be 900 bucks vs. around a hundred for the cable.

I can’t remember where that cable came from, anyone have a clue?

    hi

check out markertek at http://www.markertek.com. they have various multipin to bnc breakouts. but if they do not have the one you need for the 1800 (i recall they lean more towards camera breakouts) you can always use a 3 bnc RGB cable, which they also sell.

RGB cables w bnc connectors are still pretty common, so you should be able to google “RGB CABLES” and get a bunch of hits

we have no sdi gear here so all we use are 3 or 4 conductor RGB cables with BNC’s at both ends, some custom, and some we bought at a local electronics supply store

    Hey Bob,

I’m already using the BNC outs from the deck for my card, so without a 12 pin cable I have to use s-video to my monitor (or switch it out for grading and then back to lay to tape, a royal pain). I did a little online shopping this morning and found something close at B&H, but found exactly what I needed at their vendor, which is Comprenhensive Cable in NJ. So it looks like I’ll be set, thanks.
