monitoring audio w/ Kona LH or Kona 3 ?
I’m thinking of getting a Kona card. I also want to use it for monitoring audio.
To keep the neighbours happy, I monitor audio using studio headphones mainly, and do my final mix on a pair of KRK Rokit 5’s.
Can i monitor through the Kona and get reliable sound? Also, are there any issues I should know about before whipping out a couple grand on an expensive Kona?

That buzzing has pretty much gone away fro me. It used to happen more with my Kona2 and computer. The MacPro (2007) and the latest drivers have seemed to really taken care of it.
The Kona’s are totally awesome cards. You won’t be disappointed.
As far as audio, if you get a KOna 3, you need some sort of audio d/a unless you get a Kbox.
It’s best to have a mixer to control all of your audio outputs.

I do just that with the K3Box — RCAs out to a Mackie 1402 Mixer. Works great.
