Up to this point I have been shooting 720p and when monitoring on my old CRT video monitor it looks great…albeit it converted down for SD.

I just shot my first 1080i footage (yes still fairly new to HVX) and when it’s output to the CRT it looks horrible, very jittery. Switch back to 720p footage and it looks great. I know I need to get HD monitoring..so I don’t need to hear that..any setting that I’m missing?

I’m sending the Firewire output of the MacPro to a Canopus ADVC110 the analog signal is then going to the monitor.

I should point out that I shot this at 1080i 30, I don’t see a setup for 1080i 30 in Final Cut, am I missing something?

What are you using then? I bet that’s the problem. You’ll need to create your own sequence settings.
