Well, I am fast approaching a deadline, and seem to have hit an odd sort of wall. In order to understand what I am talking about, allow me to offer a little background.

In this project, I have our company’s logo (which contains 4 colored panels) with cube clones scaling out via a sound effector. At certain points, when the camera travels into the clones, the clones need to freeze, and the scene takes on the look of a city.

Now, in my test runs, I would accomplish this freeze by placing a keyframe in the Cloner for the sound, random, and delay effectors for 100% in the frame just before the freeze is to occur, and a key of 0% in the very next frame. This has worked fine… until now.

Now, I am trying to complete the actual project, and it occurs to me that I will need to do a network render. In order for this to work, I must bake my clones. The problem is, when I bake the sequence and I get to the frame where the freeze is to take place, the clones don’t freeze. They vanish. It’s as though the baking process looks at those cloner keyframes differently.

So, what I need to know is, how do I get around this? Is there a different technique I need to employ to make the freeze occur?

I am kind of in freak out mode right now, as my deadline rapidly approaches. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Will
