I was doing a mask in pan crop and wanted to feather the edges of the mask. Why is mode disabled in the path?

Make sure the path is selected (highlighted).

If I understand the issue correctly, you can no longer see the pan/crop handles and guide frames.

Simply click anywhere on the bar at the bottom of your screenshot titled Position to get the guidelines back.

Thanks Nigel! That did it. I have to do more with masks to get to know the process better.

Glad I could help. I remember seeing that during my first Vegas demo when happened to the presenter who could not figure it out.

It later happened to me and I recall John Rofrano helped me out (when I was a Vegas n00b).
