I am going through a tutorial by Curious Turtle (Mocha Real World) and have bumped into a bug that they document in the video. The problem affects the pasting of mocha shape data when working with interlaced footage. The shape that is pasted is half the size it should be vertically and is slightly displaced up.

    See attached images.

I am aware of the work around but since this has been documented for quite a while, I d like to know when it will be fixed? And how do CS6 owners incorporate that fix into Mocha for AE?

Hi Tom, I haven’t seen Martin post at the COW for a long while. Perhaps you may want to post at the Imagineer’s official site forum. BTW, the issue you’re referring to is known to Imagineer BUT it’s not mochaShape per se but the less utilized ‘Edit>Paste mocha mask’ command which pastes mocha Shape data as a mask as opposed to using the mochaShape plugin.

Hi Roland. Thanks, I did post there as well.

I found an old thread where you listed the 3 ways to paste mocha shape info. I will try the Matte/Mocha shape option.

That’s a good thread. 😉 FWIW, there’s no real loss to not being able to use Edit>Paste mocha mask unless you really need a mask to apply an effect that requires a mask path as an input such as Stroke or Vegas. Even then, you can covert a mochaShape-d layer into a mask shape with Auto-trace.

Yes, I was not aware of the difference between the 2 pasting processes. It seems the Mocha Shape Effect approach is far superior to the alternative. Thanks again.
