I made a cleanplate of the first frame and a few frames later, but the remove seems to be distorting the original in a strange way. I was trying to clean up her eyebrows but it looks like it was distorting the original image in the layer. I was following this tutorial on blemish removal.

Here’s the grid turned on and the cleanplates I made in Photoshop:

I’ve tried resetting the caches and starting a new project from the same footage.

I read somewhere it might be an issue with the other cleanplate files. I checked my directory and it’s large.. not sure if there’s an issue here, or what the best practices should be:

Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong?

Sorry you’re getting Nothing-But-Black…might be related to iframe embeds from Youtube. Thanks for doing this on your phone, though. ????

My talent needed her eyebrows cleaned up in CU so I’m trying to track her eyebrows in mocha.

    Before:

    After:

Here’s some images of the issue, locally hosted here on CC

    First cleanplate, works:

    First cleanplate, with grid:

Where the tracking gets funky and distorts the replaced part:

    Shown with the layers:

I’ll try and upload the videos directly and see if that defies the Nothing-But-Black curse.

Dave said: Wow, that’s way above my pay grade. Nobody in my building has Mocha Pro.

PRO is definitely worth it, just the “object removal” feature alone is with it. With object removal you can do things like set extensions. Here’s a tutorial David Shorey did just for that: https://www.mochapromagic.com/archives/84

It is possible that you don’t have a good track. A Mocha Pro remove is only as good as the track that drives it. Did you track with perspective enabled or not? Also, it looks to me that your track layer is including the eyeball, which might also be throwing off your track.

Also – make sure your clean plate is set to the frame you painted it on. (edit the clean plate and make sure there is a number there and not ALL).

Hope some of these suggestions help. You can always contact Mocha support team for more help: https://borisfx.com/support/open-a-case/

FYI – We will be releasing a new Mocha Pro version any day no with much faster GPU accelerated object removal. ???? https://youtu.be/PjLACtZPEsM

It is also available as subscription, making the overall entry to Mocha Pro much more affordable.

    Best,
    Ross
