    Newbie issue here.

I’m replacing a screen with a graphic. A hand moves across the screen and am trying to mask properly so the hand is visible and comes over my new graphic.
I tracked the screen and the hand as separate layers in Mocha with hand on top layer as suggested.

However I don’t understand how to apply the layer information in After Effects properly. The track is perfect but all I can do is replace the screen. It still covers the hand when it enters frame.

Do I need to make a separate layer for the hand, export or import differently?

    Thanks all

You need to add a mask above the insert:

    1. Duplicate your layer
    2. Choose “Visible masks” and choose only the hand layer
    3. Either use “Create AE masks” or use “Apply matte” to mask out the hand above.

Thank you very much. I knew I had to have two layers but didn’t know how to mask.
