I’ve tracked an object in mocha ae. It’s a chess piece which someone picks up and moves around the board tilting it and placing it back down. Is it possible to have a virtual camera track this piece as it is moved, following it’s movement, like you’re going along for a ride with it?

With out seeing the video, I will say yes it is possible.

If you want an actual AE camera, the way to do this is with the new mocha AE v3 which had the ability to export After Effects Camera data.

Using mocha AE that is bundled, then you would need to track the chess piece and export the 2D tracking info to a null. So this method, you will not have 3D rotation, just perspective.

You can check this video to learn about the new 3D camera solve capabilities: https://www.imagineersystems.com/videos/mocha-v3-camera-solve-overview/view
