mke 400
hello
i shoot mostly with xl’s & pd170’s -i need a shotgun mic and have considered the mke 400. is there another choice for $250 you could recommend?

Hello Roget and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,
As much of a fan as I am with Sennheiser, when you get below a certain price of any manufacturer, the performance suffers. I have not had any time with this mic. It may be a standout for its price. That happens sometimes.
The PD170 mic is pretty dismal. The mic on my XL2 is actually pretty good.
Are you sure a camera mounted mic is the way you must go?
