So I’m doing this video and I have footage from all over. Some footage is in HDV 1080i60 .mov; and the rest are DVD Rips and such in either .mp4, .avi, or .mov and all have odd frame sizes (640×480 853×480 and so-on) some compressed with DIVX and some are compressed with mpeg. Basically its a big mess…

I havent tested all the footage but FCP accepts the .avi’s compressed in DIVX but when imported into my timeline (HDV 1440x1080i60), it says it is going to take 6 hours to render out. What is a quick and common format to convert these oddball formats to before importing into final cut. Compressor is going to take days to do this, is there a better way where it won’t take hours upon hours to batch convert all this?
