    Hello,

I am working on my first feature and most of the footage was shot on a Canon XL 1. The footage looks really good. I have a shoot coming up and the DP is using a Canon xha1 that shoots in hi def. I am afraid that my footage will be noticeably different on broadcast television. Please advise on what I can do if this is the case. Thanks,

If the vast bulk of your footage is standard-def from the XL1, just have the DP shoot the small amount of new footage to match.

Even though the XHA1 is an HDV camera and will shoot 24fps, you don’t have to use it that way. It will still shoot standard-def 60i NTSC footage just like the XL1.

You’ll have a lot better luck getting the footage to match that way.
