Mixing HDV & SD to make a SD DVD both PAL & NTSC
Hi,
Working on a project that mixes HDV, SD Pal and SD NTSC footage that will end up being a DVD to be released in both PAL & NTSC formats.
I would like to use Apple Prores as the working codec as I understand its high quality and seems to work when sending to and from Apple Color.I am not 100% certain what used to shoot the footage but examining the clips using MediaInfo tells me that I have two types of clips:
1440×1080 29.97fps
720×480 29.97fpsI don’t have the option of recapturing I just have to make the best from what I have.
I am really confused about what sequence settings to use! Ideally i would like to make a widescreen DVD.

From different posts etc I believe I need to run the 1440×1080 clips through compressor.
So I guess my main issue is what should I set my timeline sequence settings to?
In FCP i can see:
Apple ProRes 422 NTSC 48 kHz
but also
DV NTSC 48 Anamorphic
but no Apple ProRes 422 NTSC 48 kHz Anamorphic…which what I think I need.Once I know what sequence settings to use I can then compress the 1440×1080 clips to the same settings..

mmm confused.
I just can’t get the 1440×1080 clips out of Compressor using Prores codec to be 16×9!
What ever i set in Geometry seems to have no effect.
