mixing GPU on cubix?
Building a new suite on mac, an i wonder if i can setup the cubix with 1RedRocket 1 nvidia4000 (which 2 card already have) and buy a GTX690 to power up the resolve 902 on mac 10.8.2.
What do you think, it will work fine?

As far as I know, Resolve is limited to slowest GPU, so if there are 3 different all 3 will work as the slowest one. More than 3 GPUs and one GUI cards are not supported in Mac and Win Resolve, for more than 3 GPUs you would need Linux version.

And I think you could sell the 4000 and get two gtx570 for the money, and buy another gtx570 for $300us and be rocking

When rendering with 3gpu in the cubix it draws a lot of power, but it should work either way. Red rockets like 8x slots, so may be better in cubix…try them both. But careful moving that red rocket around!!http://www.4Kfinish.com | owner-colorist | Hollywood, CA

I’m thinking try this:
2 gtx690 on cubix
mac with GUi5770-cubix-redrocket-BM3d(the config guide say just one gtx690, is my only doubt)

Multiple 680s work fine. I would recommend those. They generally out perform the 690s in Resolve. Also get the 4GB 680 version. BTW, the 580s are slightly better than the 680s.

also there is just a version of gtx (no mac version) right? as it gone be installed in a cubix on mac 10.8.2 -
Sure, you can go with 3x GTX 680 + rocket. If you have slot might be better to put rocket internally. But it will work in cubix.
