Mixing frame rates – Offline and Online Edits
I’m going to be starting a feature-length project with 4 different camera formats. There’s a mixture of frame rates: 24, 29.97, and 59.94.
Should I transcode all the footage to be the same frame rate or should I edit everything natively?
If I do go ahead with transcoding, what’s the easiest way to online the footage that has had the frame rates changed? Since the edited clips will have different timecodes, I was wondering if there was a simple way to do this.

I’m not sure how well PPro handles different frame rates – this is a job I would do in Avid, which handles the different frame rates (applies a motion effect, which you can then edit for different motion interpretation). It can also show different frame rates as different colours in the timeline.
Interested to see what the options are in PPro…

I think the DCP will be 24fps and the broadcast will be 59.94.
