  Mixed Media – CS5.5

  I’ve got a project shot on DSLRs (720p conformed to 23.98, H.264) and the client has supplied some generated 3D graphics footage at 960×540, 29.97, H.264. The footage was originally cut in FCP and then XML’d over to Premiere Pro CS5.5. This footage shows up greened out and won’t play. When I replace with AE comp it still won’t show up in AE (I had to create a new project to get it to work). If I import directly into PPro it still shows up as greened out.

  Any ideas why? I’m on a mac pro with 3.2 Ghz quad cores, 18gb RAM and a Niveda GE8800 card.

  Initially I thought this was due to CS5.5 not supporting mixed formats (no mention is made on their site that it does…) but I believe it can.
