Mixed 23.97 and 29.97 Footage, What’s the Best Way?
So we have a project that was shot at 29.97 and 23.97 in 4K.
What’s the best way to handle this?
Is there something we can do before the export to get a more seamless looking video?
Is there a smarter way to get the extra frames out of the 29.97 footage?
Should we go from 23.97 to 29.97 or the other way? -

Most folks start be creating a timeline that has settings matching what they need for their final deliverable product. Drop your footage in and Premiere will handle the frame rates.
If you get any objectionable artifacts you can address those on a casy-by-case basis.

That’s what we’ve done in the past, but Premiere seems to handle it in not the best way. What do you mean by case by case basis?
The final can be either frame rate, is it better to go up to 29.97 or down to 23.97?

Best result is 23.98 to 29.97 interlaced. If your 29.97 is progressive, don’t go that way. It’ll look very bad, unless you use advanced techniques in After Effects on all that footage. 29.97p to 23.98p is slightly better. It’ll still look stuttery No avoiding that
