Missing MP3 codec on render
Hi everyone!
Lately I’ve been having this problem where I can’t render video with MP3 audio, although I have a codec installed.
On render, a message is thrown stating “An error occured while opening a codec.”
For that matter, none of the audio compression formats work, except for PCM.I’ve tried reinstalling the MP3 codec, Vegas, selecting lowest possible quality but none of that helped.
There’s not much information about this issue on the internet.
I’m forced to render with PCM as audio and then compressing just audio in another program such as VirtulDub.
It’s very time consuming.Using:
– Sony Vegas Pro 9
– latest ffdshow codecs pack
– latest Fraunhofer MP3 encoder -

Vegas comes with it’s own MP3 encoder. You probably messed things up by installing one of your own. I would just uninstall your MP3 codec and re-install Vegas so that it can re-establish it’s own codecs and everything will probably work fine after that.

Already tried uninstalling all mp3 codecs and reinstalling Vegas, but to no avail.
Switched back to Vegas 8 and everything is working OK. Guess I’m staying w it.Cheers!
