  • Missing FCP Uncompressed 422.component codec….

Posted by Paul Turlick on December 12, 2005 at 9:11 pm

    Hi –

Just upgraded to Tiger and now dealing with the fallout. Did the clean install and archive, uninstalled both Kona 2 and IO drivers etc. Downloaded the new drivers, did the firmware upgrade for both. In my Kona control panel it says, in intimidating red type: MISSING! – FCP Uncompressed 422.component & MISSING! – DVCPROHDCodec.component.

In the IO panel it is just MISSING! – FCP Uncompressed 422.component.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled again only to get the same message. Needless to say I’m not able to open the sequence I need in FGCP 4..5 as it says the codec/hardware is missing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks-
    Paul

Just a shot in the dark,

You may need to repair permissions on the startup drive.

on any upgrade of the OS you should do a clean install- you wouldn’t see probs as you have described- back up essentials and do a clean one- download correct aja drivers/utilities and you should be fine.

if for some reason you can’t erase and install- run s.o.p’s (permissions, …etc… and drive repair)

[Paul] ” Did the clean install and archive”

    Paul,

You should be able to find the missing file in your archived system library folder. Just drag it to the new system’s library. Alternately, reinstalling Final Cut will put it where it needs to go.

    Regards,
    David

Thanks. The upgrade to FCP 5 “seems” to have worked….for now……..testing continues.
