MiniDV splash bag for DVX100B underwater pool shooting
Hello,
Does anyone know anything about the following product that i am going to rent for underwater shooting in a residential pool (max 6ft deep) with the DVX100B? It’s called a MiniDV splash bag and I am looking to rent it from Air Sea Land Productions (out of NYC):
Basically I want to make sure that the product is reliable and that my camera won’t get wet.
This housing is made from 2mm thick natural latex and is sealed using a heavy-duty watertight zip. The front and rear ports are fixed to an internal shoe. The camera is mounted onto an adjustable quick release plate on this shoe. This allows the camera to be positioned within the housing depending on the lens used.
Designed to fit most Sony, Canon, JVC and Panasonic Mini DV camcorders
The housing can be either hand held or mounted on a tripod. Access to the “stand by” switch and the “tape run” button is achieved using the fingerstall in the body of the housing, and the zoom rocker switch can be operated through the wall of the housing. When the zip is fully closed the unit can be submerged to a maximum depth of 3 meters.

Sounds a bit flimsy- ask what the dryness guarantee is on that one…
